Statement

      I am an independent scholar and artist. A graduate of Sarah Laurence College in New York and the Byam Shaw School of Art in London, I have exhibited my work extensively, in places such as London, Washington, New York, Jerusalem, Connecticut, and North Carolina. 

        I studied with the renowned ceramic artist, Professor Mikhail Zakin, and in 1982 served as her research assistant in South Korea, where I also had the opportunity to study with master Korean potters and painters.  I spent over two years in the former Yugoslavia, and was featured in major solo exhibitions at the American Center in Belgrade in 1990, and in three Museums galleries in Macedonia in 2002.  Columbia University school of Foreign Affairs hosted a semester long exhibit of my work abroad. My painting of an Occanichi village is part of a permanent exhibition at the North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh, NC.  

        My other activities include a career as a consultant for Sotheby’s Auction House in London and New York, a Telecommunication specialist for the National Indian Policy Center in Washington DC, A Childcare Policy writer for the Bush Center at Yale University, and a curator for Papa New Guinea art collection at New Haven University. Currently I am teaching at Hunter college, where my courses have included The Arts of New York, Introduction to Visual Arts, and Anthropology courses on Israeli Culture and film.
